Grassroots Organization Comes Out Supporting Freedom In Wake Of Terrorism
Freedom Is Essential To Our Future
Minneapolis--In the wake of the recent terrorist attacks on the United States by supposed foreign extremists, a flood of
opinions have surfaced concerning America’s future action. Most statements indicate a necessity for an immediate military
response, whereas others admonish future internal policy for the United States.
Minnesota Young Americans for Freedom (MNYAF), a new non-partisan conservative organization in Minnesota, came out
recently against statements that some have made recommending less freedom in America to create more safety. “If we dare to
go down the road of taking away any essential freedom that our nation stands upon, the faceless cowards that committed this
horrible act have already won. There are things in this world worse than death,” said MNYAF Executive Director Chris Hill.
Hill went on to quote Benjamin Franklin, who said in 1759, “they that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary
safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
MNYAF’s Chairman, Jed Ipsen, concurred with Hill in his statement, saying our commitment to the ideals of America have
been tested, and now is the time to stand behind our country as we move forward. "A new evil has been defined, and the U.S.
will lead the world in a global assault against the people, the governments and the leaders of countries who support and sponsor
this activity." Ipsen added, "the events of this past week are unprecedented, and the U.S. needs to respond as such. We are
faced with an enemy who is faceless, cowardly and illusive -- however, one that can be defeated." MNYAF officially supports
the President in any military action designed to punish the perpetrators of this act of war.
MN YAF is an independent affiliate of the Young Americans for Freedom (YAF), a national organization established in the
early 1960s. MN YAF can be contacted through their website at www.yaf.com/mnyaf.
