Support Retaliation Rally Organized to Counter Protest an Anti War Rally at University of Minnesota
Students Support Retaliation
Minneapolis -- The Students Against War organized an anti-war rally to take place on Wednesday, October 3 at 2:30pm in
front of the Weisman Art Center at the University of Minnesota. The rally is entitled "Rally Against the U.S. War Drive!" Other
rallies similar to this one have been taking place at the University over the last few weeks since the recent terrorist attacks.
Minnesota Young Americans for Freedom (MNYAF) is organizing a counter rally to take place at the same time. MNYAF
Executive Director, Chris Hill, said that "we need to retaliate in this type of situation. If we do nothing, they will simply see us as
weaker than they already perceive us and will attack again." Hill went on to give an example, saying, "let's say I punch you. You
fall down and get back up, and then declare that you won't hit me back. I punch you again. You again fall down and say the
same thing. Eventually you will realize that I'm going to keep punching you until you punch me back hard enough to make me
stop. That is what these people who advocate 'peace' need to understand."
MN YAF is an independent affiliate of the Young Americans for Freedom (YAF), a national organization established in the
early 1960s. MN YAF can be contacted through their website at yaf.com/mnyaf.
